House music label established in 1994 by Hisa Ishioka. Sister label to BPM King Street Sounds and Street King

House label, based in London, run by Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon. Leon Oakey was the label manager during its initial spell. The 12"s start at CMC100 and run backwards, and the albums start at CMC100 and run forwards. After reaching catalogue number zero, they briefly stopped releasing vinyl EPs and singles. Defected acquired the label in August 2010. Former parent company: Classic Recordings Ltd.

R&B, gospel and dance music singer and actress from Chicago. Former lead singer of Sounds Of Blackness until 1995 when she left the group to pursue a solo career. Established her own label It's Time Child Records in 2000. Mother of Jamecia Bennett and Shirley Marie Graham. Married to and managed by Timothy W. Lee.

Pete D. Johnson "Ulysses", or Ulysses Johnson III, is a saxophonist from Chicago IL, known to the dance music community for his Large Records hit "I'm Leaving You" (1993). Written and produced by his childhood friend Lil' John Coleman, it was originally just a jazzy House track with Ulysses' saxophone riffs, until John wrote a single verse of lyrics to the groove, and asked Ulysses to "sing" over the track. What came out of his mouth was a soulful yet raspy tone, reminiscent of Colonel Abrams or the late Teddy Pendergrass! But the biggest credit goes to the legendary Louie Vega, who personally broke the track with an acetate copy given to him by Lil' John (the ONLY copy!) that he played at the Sound Factory Bar (NYC) and everywhere else... and the rest is history :-)
