House head Ralph Session teaches us a lesson on 'For The House Heads', dedicating his nextmost release only to the best and most dedicated jack acolytes among us. Kicking things off with the high-strung, vocal piner 'I Know You Can', whose jacking funk jerks blend dreamily with its sampled street soul voxxes, we then move into the less jerky but no less pistoling groove of 'Take Me Higher', which never fails to do so. 'House Family' grubs things out with a deeper melody line, rounding things off on a dubbier dream-session. -

Rimshot-packed comedown house from Marcus Paulson on Quintessentials, amounting to a four-track cochlear purgation and cleansing. The sonic equivalents an aloe scented exfoliants with notes of hibiscus and azalea, 'MP' and 'Keep On' serve to anoint then massage the ears by way of expertly panned FMs, pressed reverb rumpuses, and chord-string dances. And though its name gets at a theme of purity, the EP's 'House Music' retains still the only reserve of dirt (hydroponic gardens still need soil) left over on the entire record, though it's still sprayed over by anthro exhalations and "huh" sounds, in lieu of a crop duster. The titular 'Pure' is the final highlight, offering the listener an ascendancy of wafty cloud synthetics and tickly claves, among other perc sounds. -
