NYC-via-Atlanta's Fugitive Artifact arrives with a quartet of cuts that live in the shadows between grimey tech, noir house and full-blooded Chicago jack. This is not just revival music because it respects the founders, nods to John Carpenter, and then does something distinct and fresh. The A-side is psychedelic and properly unnerving with driving basslines, syncopated claps and atmospheric swells that pull you down the wormhole into a world of in-salubriousness. The B-side pushes the tempo into techno realms before closing with an ominous grey dawn. Freaky, and we like it.

For the last eight years COEO has successfully built a reputation via EPs on Toy Tonics, Let's Play House and Razor-N-Tape reserve that gleefully blur the boundaries between deep house and nu-disco. Here the Munich-based duo appears on House Of Disco for the very first time. The headline attraction is undoubtedly "Habibi Dub", a wonderfully cheery, melodic and up-tempo affair full of stylistic nods to 1980s Euro-disco and NYC freestyle (Fairlight stabs, bubbly Bobby Orlando bass, chiming synthesizer riffs, delay-laden drums etc). You'll find two rather good remixes of the track tucked away on side B, too. There's a sparkling, rush-inducing take from Phillip Lauer that throws Balearic house pianos into the mix, as well as a Mix & Fairbanks rework that adds a little tropical flavour.

Xiaolin reimagines ‘Half a Dream’ which first saw the light of day on the 1987 LP ‘City Girl’ by Tina Liu which has become a very coveted rare and deeply loved rare gem of the late 80s Cantonese language Synth-Pop canon. Alongside Xiaolin breahting new life into this hyper catchy jam with what is now her trademark of stripped back charm melded with a dexterous production style, we’ve been treated to two separate instrumental versions and gifted South Korean producer Mogwaa on remix duties; delivering a slick, dreamy dancefloor cut.

First compilation album of works from Argentine synthesizer maniac Nacho Marty Meyer... Tip! Since the 80's, Meyer has been interested in synthesizers and electronic music, and started making demos. The compilation includes the Italo disco track 'Magical Journey', previously released under the name Xarion, which is now a hard-to-find record.
