The new Ripen series was inspired by the live, percussive & soulful dance releases from Salsoul records and a curiosity of what Roy Ayers would sound like with a 303 in the band. All the sounds including string quartet, horns, choir, percussion, flute spoken word, drums and synths were recorded in Sampology’s studio on the south side of Brisbane, Australia. The 12” EP includes four songs + extra DJ tool creating a lush and live environment, bringing his previous nature themes further onto the dancefloor. ‘Spirits Ripened’ featuring NMMWL is a spoken word and string arrangement, a pause between kick drums and congas on the remainder of the release. The second 12” volume of Ripen series set to release in the second half of 2025.

The Florentian Cabaret return with a four-track EP that traverses progressive and tech house. 'Cerere' sets the tone, its hypnotic groove and atmospheric textures creating a captivating sonic landscape. 'Rippol' picks up the pace, its driving bassline and infectious melodies building towards a euphoric climax. On the flipside, 'Love Me Or Leave Me' takes a more introspective turn, its melancholic chords and haunting vocals exploring the complexities of human connection. 'Salto Quantico' closes out the EP with a burst of energy, its pulsating rhythms and soaring synths taking the listener on a thrilling sonic adventure. American trumpeter, vocalist, composer, band leader and producer. Married to Lani Hall (1973), father of Eden Alpert-DeVries (had with Sharon Mae Lubin). Co-founder of A&M Records with partner Jerry Moss in 1962. Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 (Lifetime Achievement).

This remastered reissue features Dutch titan Speedy J's second landmark EP for Plus 8 Records, which saw him further exploring the then-emerging sounds of techno. Across the cuts, he delves into euphoric, minimal and bleepy territories with tracks like 'Rise,' 'Tresor' and 'De-orbit.' All of them are killer but on 'Something For Your Mind' he strips the sound down to its essentials and uses only a 909 drum machine and a vocal sample to great effect. This release, particularly that tune, played a crucial role in shaping modern techno with its harder, more raw, and no-nonsense approach influencing later stylistic evolutions like gabba.

After the nostalgic disco album Lido Sirena and the spiritual housy Aqua Viva, Francesco Fisotti came back with his adriatic sound, this time inspired by the broken-beat scene from the 2000s accompanied by the young talented Italian singer Lauryyn, the musical genius Stefano De Santis and remixes by Steal Tapes and XL Regular. The sound from Apulia never been so bruk, blue and eclectic.

Embracing a rich Italo-heavy sound infused with global music elements, 'Ritmomento' firmly positions the duo as modern-day producers carrying on the legacy of both the late '80s Italo wave and the cosmic, tribal, and Afro-influenced Italian 90's electronic scene. In addition to the EP's three original tracks, London-based South African DJ/Producer Esa and Amsterdam’s Masalo both contribute stellar remixes and re-interpretations that transport the originals to new dimensions. The EP kicks off with 'Luna Manga', where a strong Italo synth bassline and a catchy, Mory Kante-inspired vocal hook set the tone for the journey ahead. Following this is 'Echo Danza', with mid-tempo grooving rhythms and captivating vocals that highlight the duo's unique interpretation of the diverse influences that defined the late '90s Italian electronic scene - also showcased in 'Nakarap', a track featuring infectious synth stabs that delivers a classic cosmic vibe, paying homage to the genre's rich roots. With Esa's live band version of 'Nakarap' things are taken up a notch, introducing a lively bassline and dynamic drums that weave throughout the track. Lastly, Masalo adds his unique touch to 'Luna Manga', transforming for the peak-time dancefloor with hypnotic arpeggios and an ecstatic build-up.
