For their latest delve into the archives, Music From Memory offshoot Second Circle has decided to focus on Sandoz, a celebrated Richard H. Kirk solo project that generally joined the dots between dub and then contemporaneous styles of electronic music. The four tracks contained here were originally released on the earliest Sandoz 12" singles (1992-93), all of which are now frustratingly hard to find. Kirk's healthy obsession with Afro-futurism can be heard in the tribal chants, dub-wise bass and glassy-eyed electronics of opener "Human Spirit", while "Beam" sounds like a deeper, dreamier take on the Yorkshire Bleep sound he helped to create. "Chocolate Machine" is another deep, drowsy and melodious workout rich in clanking percussion hits, and "Steel Tabernacle" is Sweet Exorcist style "clonk" with added ghostly melodies.

Isle Of Jura come through once more with a superbly in demand reissue of a sought after disco cut from the 1980s. 'Save Our Love' by Escape From New York is a blend of disco, new wave and funk that has a mystical atmosphere and drums perfectly of their time. The vocal is full of yearning under the shimmering synths and on the flip is an even more 80s-leaning tune, 'Slow Beat' (dance mix) has more obvious 80s leanings and the 12" closes with the Instrumental of 'Save Our Love, stripping back the vocals and giving more air to the bass.

NYC house legend Joaquin “Joe” Claussell steps up for a fantastic remix of Arp Frique’s 'Save Your Soul' taken from the recent album “The Gospel Of Jesamy”. Support from Floating Points, Palms Trax, Antal and Hunee amongst others. Big TIP! Sticking to the gospel roots, the 'Sacred Rhythm Praise Version' opens with an organ and piano solo before the iconic "Claussell drums" kick in followed by additional disco strings. Powerful vocals provided by Rocq-E Harrell, Muriel Blijd and Brandon Delagraentiss whilst Arp Frique’s instrumentation glues the whole track together.

SlothBoogie is one of London's most highly respected underground electronic music crews, encompassing a DJ collective, record label, radio show and regular party series. On the seventh edition of their Editz series, they take matters into their own hands with three club ready disco reworks - all chopped, trimmed and finessed for your dancing pleasure. On the A side we've got the funked-up peak time disco loops of "Looking 4 U", followed by the late night mood music of "Freak" - taking things down an emotive deep house route. On the flip, it's back to the (disco) program with the sexy lo-slung escapades of "B2B".
