The next chapter in Axis Expressionist Series. A collection of vinyl and limited digital releases, curated by Jeff Mills of his most eclectic and transcendent compositions that derive from his Every Dog Has Its Day project as well as new unreleased works. ''Imperfections are a natural part of the world, and they can make us beautiful and unique: Nothing and everything is perfect. We can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and still we're beautiful.'' A Star Child is the idea that a person can be incomplete and not self-aware, yet accept their imperfections and still direct their influence despite the arrangements of periodic and trending consequence. It can also mean that imperfections can make admirable qualities stand out more clearly. The Star Child reveals.

Suburbs of Milan, 80s, Milano da Bere. An astronaut, a paparazzi, a dirty cop and a private investigator sip Punt and Mes and discuss the latest Versace show. “Star Italiana” wants to represent the Italian imagination of the 80s, an era lived at the top, full of charm, hedonism and contradiction. An indelible period stuck between social revolution and technological transformation, lunar journeys, cold war and electronic batteries 808. Thanks to the the songs on this album, the authors deal with themes such as passion (“Marlboro Light”), politics (“Polizei”), culture (“Shooting Star”) and social affairs (“Paparazzi”), all seasoned by a healthy dose of irony personified by the characters photographed on the front cover. It’s music characterized by lively rhythms, pulsating synthesizers, pounding melodies, morning-after drums, all shaping the characteristic sound of the era: ITALO DISCO.

Marseille-based DJ Jo SZT is from the Atipik Crew and now he steps out to launch his own new imprint Komplices. It kicks off with this first EP from his mate Atree over in Berlin and is a perfectly twisted mix of tech, minimal and acid. 'Outflow' begins with low-slung creeper and warped bass, then 'Sensible Counting Acab' spins out on a more lithe cosmic tip and 'Press Start' gets back to ragged synths, snappy hits and serrated basslines. 'Relaxane' shuts down with a nice mechanical rhythm and seductive vocal whispers.
