London-based label Art of Dark are a force to be reckoned with, consistently releasing EPs full of murky slammers. Their first release of 2026, titled 'Storm in The Matrix', is no different, and consists of five tracks from Berlin electro-maestro Otis, a producer known for his captivating live sets. The first track, 'Drifting Endlessly', comes out the gate swinging, with a muttered vox and a mean 303 line over some punchy kicks. 'Morphineus' follows, and feels like an electro equivalent of a ballad , as a french vocal sample over a fragile synth lead is met by swelling pads which are lathered over another infectious acid line. 'Link Gatekeeper Edit' is the break-up rock song to follow, as sporadic synths are joined by a guitar riff akin to one you might hear in a Stone Roses song. On the B-side, 'Yourdigitalself' and '1000yrs Storm' close out the EP in a proper Art of Dark fashion with pure, unadulterated, heads-down electro action.

Fresh out the oven: Strawberry Cake, a four-slice serving of disco, Italo, and sleaze. Trent’s secret recipe baked for sharing. These tracks are decadent, intoxicating, and crafted to leave you sticky-fingered and starry-eyed. The A-side serves two contrasting temptations. The first track is sleek, hypnotic, and nocturnal: a cosmic seduction dressed in sequins, all sugar-sweat indulgence and midnight whispers. Flip to the second, and you’re met with pure Italo melodrama: synths shimmering, bassline rolling like a glittering night train, and urgent vocals turning a lover’s plea into a dancefloor ultimatum. On the B-side, the heat rises. One track is full-bodied disco intoxication, a satin-clad haze of late-night indulgence. Finally, the last track crashes the party with a sleazy 4 a.m. jam: part disco, part rock’n’roll dive-bar delirium. It closes the record like the forbidden last bite of cake. A rare confection: irresistible, indulgent, and absolutely decadent.

The first notes of Strength In Numbers pull you in with the immediacy of a tightly wound groove. 'Team Spirit' sets the stage with sharp percussion and a bassline that feels as if it's pushing against a restraint, only to give way to an effortless swing. 'Gear Up Rudi!' follows with a cool, almost cinematic feel, as Gibin's intricate rhythm patterns dance around the space between the beats. The pace slows slightly on 'Come Mornin' (featuring Sandra St. Victor),' where the warmth of her vocals transforms the track into a soulful, melodic anchor. Yet, it's on 'No Matter What' that the LP really finds its strideian undulating groove, building steadily before its final, emotive release. The album balances thoughtful restraint with moments of release and in that, Gibin creates something that moves through time without losing its pulse.
